In a location tucked away beneath the South Downs in West Sussex, Edburton Contractors Ltd (ECL) has been, for nearly fifty years, a leading force in the maintenance and development of highways, footpaths, car parks, drains and much more throughout Sussex and the Home Counties.

Founded in 1963 this family business continues to build on its strong foundations and reputation. At Edburton we strive to be at the cutting edge of the Civil Engineering industry, having adapted and developed the company to keep pace with progress.

ECL are full members of Construction Line, Construction Health and Safety Group (CHAS) and Accredited with BM Trada ISO 9001, 14001, and BS OHSAS 18001.We retain the services of an acknowledged Health and Safety consultant. Health and Safety is the principle concern in all our activities.

ECL have invested a great deal of time and resources into ensuring our work force and machinery are of the highest calibre to make certain that standards of quality are maintained across our wide ranging service options. Our workforce compromises of over 60 directly employed operatives, who are skilled and competent. Our senior employees have CSCS, CPCS and NRWSA certificates and we encourage and support all within our company to further their civil engineering abilities.

ECL look to employ local staff and we are proud of being capable of retaining our workforce, with some members having been with Edburton for over twenty, thirty and even forty years.

Further to this we also recognise the responsibility our industry has to limit damage to the environment. We take precautions to ensure that our sites reduce noise, dust and pollution wherever possible, both for our operatives and any public in the vicinity.  ECL have been successful in being awarded the Considerate Constructors Scheme in Crawley, where consideration to others is a criteria to receiving the award.

ECL are capable of recycling waste materials on site and providing local builders and suppliers with various recycled aggregates that otherwise would be placed in landfill.
